Installing acoustic slat panels

Installing your Targwall acoustic slat wall panels is simple. Panels fix directly to flat, dry walls with a zigzag bead of adhesive, or onto horizontal battens at 400mm intervals if your wall is damp or uneven. 

Simply cut the first panel to length, then use a spirit level to keep each panel vertical for a smooth, seamless finish. Trim around sockets, switches and fixtures as you go for a neat fit. 

At corners, simply slot panels into internal or external corner trims, fixed to the wall with wall plugs and screws, for crisp, professional edges. Work panel by panel, left to right, checking each is securely bonded before moving on.

Yes, using a recycled PET felt background and oak slats, our wall panels absorb and dampen noise before filtering and dispersing it more gently.

Will acoustic wall panels soundproof a room?

Targwall acoustic slat wall panels absorb echo and reduce reverberation, making rooms sound calmer and clearer. They’re acoustic treatment rather than full soundproofing, though, so they won’t block sound from travelling between rooms.

What size are the panels and how many do I need?

Each wall panel in our acoustic range measures 2600mm x 600mm x 18mm (around 1.56m² per panel), and they’re sold as one panel per pack. Measure your wall area in m² and divide by 1.56 to work out how many packs to order, adding a little extra for cuts.

Can I cut acoustic slat wall panels to fit?

Targwall panels are designed to be cut to length, so you can tailor them precisely to your wall height or width using standard tools.

Can acoustic wall panels be fitted in a bathroom or kitchen?

These acoustic slat panels are not presented as waterproof wall panels, so they should not be used where they will be exposed directly to water. For bathrooms, showers and wet areas, use Targwall’s dedicated Shower Wall Panels range. 

Are these acoustic panels real wood?

The panels are not made from solid oak, but they do use real wood and oak veneer covering three sides of the slats, combined with sustainable wood and a recycled PET acoustic felt backing. This gives the panels the natural look and warmth of oak without using solid timber throughout.
